Books Made Into Movies: Mommie Dearest By Christina Crawford....

Mommie Dearest is the alleged account of the child abused Christina Crawford suffered by the hands of her mother screen legend Joan Crawford.

Made into a movie in 1981 by director Frank Perry, Mommie Dearest became an instant cult classic. Known by many as the campy film with famous one liners such as "No More Wire Hangers".

Although child abuse is a serious subject matter, this film is so deliberately bad, from the over the top acting ,to the dramatic knock out drag out fights.

You can't help , but love this film.

Faye Dunaway 's portrayal of Joan Crawford is so over the top that she makes this role hilariously her own.  The scene were she takes on the board members of Pepsi and screams "Don't Fuck With Me Fellas" ....comedy gold!

I give this movie 5 out of 5 stars.

Christina Crawford may not be one of her mother's fans, but I am a fan of this movie!
