American Psycho By Bret Easton Ellis is a novel that is best describe as a satirical psychological thriller. The fictional story about serial killer and Manhattan businessman Patrick Bateman.
Made into a movie in 2000 by director Mark Harron American Psycho takes us into the life a very deranged man during the 1980s whose blood lust for killing has gotten out of control.
A star studded cast made up of Christian Bale, Jared Leto, Chloe Sevigny, Samanta Mathis, Josh Lukas, Justin Theroux and Reese Witherspoon.
I give American Psycho 4 out of 5 stars. I didn't enjoy the movie version as much as I would have like to. Other then a 80s top 40 soundtrack, and small references to the music of that time, I would have never guessed that this movie was set in the 80s. I did however enjoy the acting and Christian Bale did a excellent job as Bateman.
I would recommend watching this film, or even buying the Bluray/DVD. Just don't expect to be creeped out or having your mind blown when the ending is revealed. I leave that up to the book which caused such a stir when it was first released it was banned in certain countries and some what censored in others.
